Beware Auto Sales Shucksters and those trying to Sell Ya Something

Among the many things I see similar this time around from the first great O'Bummer/Democrat planned looting spree of the late first decade of the 2000's are that besides the Precious Metal hustlers coming out of the woodwork as they did back then the anti-Car Dealership types go on an almost weekly celebration tour now.

Back in 08 it seemed to be just the SUV owners that were targeted by the left but this time it's the entire sales side of the Industry I guess. O'Bummer hated new cars, especially those that were not especially favored by the under served groups I guess. And since Biden is just a clueless O'Bummer clone makes sense things will escalate a bit now as he has only one game plan and that is too go further that the Golfer in Chief did.

Regardless the celebrations I have seen today are premature to say the least in my opinion. Most sales were up year over year but what do I notice right off the bat from the miscellaneous YouTube anti-Dealership Hustlers? Why they point out how inventories are rising and sales figures are dropping, all with a twinkle in their eye and a link directly to some service or other they want you to pay for.

Now I will never underestimate the ability of the American Consumer to use whatever excuse they can find to spend money and go into even more debt but this latest news is misleading to the extreme. I saw pretty much the same type of misinformation at a couple of other sites offering sales services and such too. How Dealerships are panicking, prices are dropping, no sales that plague em all, floor fee institutions backing out. Why it's enough to make any Dealership manager begin drooling in fear while hiding in his private bathroom I imagine.

Now I have no illusions that new car prices are going to drop eventually, they will, but it is going to take some more time than this. Right now Dealerships are coming off one of the best sales periods they have ever had in history with shortages on every vehicle model people wanted to spend money on. SO how is it that sales are up year over year but so are inventory numbers? Because there are still a lot of vehicles out there ordered months ago that need to be delivered yet and new manufacturing just got restarted and will now be going balls to the walls with production until the new models come out in August.

Dealerships have already made enough money to be well into the green for this year on nothing more than pre-ordered sales. Financial institutions dropping flooring fees effect a very small minority of sellers who are not inside of or independent of an auto group structure already. The used car market fluctuations have little to no effect on new Vehicle sales and coming off a sales boom like we saw that never really effected the service side of the industry employees were not a problem to begin with. In fact it's a good excuse to get rid of any under performers too.

If you are into used cars it may in fact be a good time to start looking around but New vehicles got a way to go yet and plenty of time to hold firm on higher prices while they wait.  I can assure everyone we are not going to see anything near panic price dropping until next years models start being built and that will take a closure for line re-tooling as well.

What we are seeing is new just like with every other aspect of this downturn wold wide. How it is going to actually work itself out will be as different as a White Knight to a Black Bishop in the end so take any advice from someone trying to sell you something with a grain of salt and focus on regional changes more than anything else.

And learn to Grow your own food!!!

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!
