A Super Quick Sunday Post

I had to work work work today. Needed to mow my Dad's lawn and then I went and checked the two traps I have out near his place and there was a pretty big swarm captured in the second trap. So as soon as it gets dark I am going over to get it and move it to it's new home location.

From what I could see the girls were already bringing in pollen for brood rearing and I haven't checked that trap in a week I think so they could have been in there a little while.

Hopefully this is a portent that swarms are going start coming in more regularly now.

I then hit the garden again and got through another two sections of pole bean trellis along with finishing off the Cantaloupe. All I have to do now is finish one more trellis of cucumbers and one more of pole beans and then it is on to the Tomatoes. Trouble is the damned weeds are almost too high and big now in the Tomatoes. I may actually have to mow between the rows and till to get em all. I am also going to have to water because the ground is turning rock hard from lack of moisture once again.

Man this is shaping up like 2012 all over again.

I also got the last coat of paint on four more brood chambers this evening. Sheep are put away for the night and now I am off to move that swarm trap.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!!

  2. It didn't go. I got there about 10pm and there was a huge ball of bees still clustered outside the trap. Not sure what is going on whether the heat will keep em out all night or not. I am going to try going back there about 4AM or so I guess and see if they are all inside then.
