Sunday Reading - Defunding IS Constitutional

I get such a kick out of the screaming Femocrats who for the first time in their lives are hopping mad and saying something is the "Law of the Land"

Every time I hear that I immediately think about those progressive loons using their Democrat majority to defund the immigration and control laws back in 2007. They stopped the funding for that fence and border cold didn't they? No mention of the law then. Why if we wanted to keep going back in time we could call up a certain conflict that was totally defunded (Foreign Assistance Act of 1974) and left many an ally, POW and the Lord only knows how many dollars in equipment scattered across the Asian countryside, abandoned or dumped into the ocean because one party controlled Congress and chose to defund something.

Femocrats have no leg to stand on when it comes to ignoring the laws they don't like either.

I ask you is the Executive Branch upholding the defense of marriage act these days? Why, No they are not. The executive branch isn't even abiding by the Obamacare fiasco law if you get right down to it. Excluding anyone or group from a Law is not the privilege or the right of the Executive branch.

Hypocrites all.

As Obamacare stood  back in 2011 it was not Constitutional. However by changing the core mandate to considering it a tax the Supreme Court squarely placed Obummercare into the same realm as countless other forms of legislation passed before it. That area which now subjects it to all of the checks and balances given by the Constitution. Arguably the whole thing should have been brought through the entire process again after that ruling but using the same fuzzy procedural nonsense the Democrats used to pass it originally, it was not.

The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defense and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

And has been done many times.....

It also has the power to NOT collect those taxes. Had Obama care not been a tax it wouldn't be subject to that clause (although then certainly not Constitutional).

There is a reason the "Origination Clause" Article 1, section 7 was included in the Constitution and that was to balance out the fact that the Senate was made up of an equal number of Senators per state regardless of population. Congress was there to give the masses a voice while the Senate was there to balance out Mob rule.

We won't even go into direct election of Senators here except to show how it allowed the misrepresentation we are seeing today as evident in the next paragraph.

Funny the Femocrats now rely on the State's Senate balance while claiming the people have spoken. The true reflection of what the people want is how the House is divided and they have shown twice now it is to get rid of Obummercare.

So as you can clearly see there is no "Law of the Land" that cannot be defunded by Congress unless that law happens to be a Constitutional Amendment. Although Defunding is typically a trick reserved by the Left.

The fact that the Democrat Senate refuses to entertain any funding bill presented without Obummer care is their privilege but then it is their responsibility that the government is shut down.
