The Problem of the Ents

I often see bloggers or writers around the web that I admire and follow mention how unbelievable it is that as a collective group patriots, constitutionalists, conservatives, Christians or what have you are not up in arms and already fighting against the oppression and tyranny we seem to be assaulted with daily.

The government takes our money through taxes, fees, or fines and spends it on things that directly harm our very way of life. They then borrow more money handing us the bill which just means more taxation in loss of value and future interest payments. On top of it all while spending our money against us it then demands we follow it's rules and violate our rights of association, speech, etc. as a condition to spending our money.

The oppression seems so simple when written down in black and white but the reality is that in this day and age no one works together because no one is entirely an ally to be trusted.

If you are familiar with Tolkien you understand the background of the Ent analogy. These giants were long the allies of the so called good peoples yet once evil had been forced into retreat they suffered centuries of wrongdoing. Their very way of life had been diminished and restricted. To fully join one side of the coming conflict meant in some way they would be supporting their own eventual end.  Either by direct attack or the long slow death of a thousand paper cuts. Their race had been divided by gender, the Entwives were long gone. Few respected their  beliefs or cared for their needs and they argued among themselves over what action to take.

I often find myself wondering if the old Ents weren't arguing about which potential ally was actually worse than the other and could not come to an agreement so finally chose to do nothing until their limbs were forced directly.

The problem as I see it is there is no right path for any of us. We are divided so thoroughly by the sheer number of threats that no one can accurately determine how to resist. Or at least no one can agree on which threat needs to be met first. One is willing to compromise on one threat but not on another while their potential ally is unwilling to bend where the first threat is concerned.

Personally I see the largest threat as political correctness, Feminism and the Multi-Cult. I find it hard to follow or agree with anyone who accepts these ideologies in even small amounts while they fight back against some other injustice. To me the very injustice they claim to be against springs from the multi-cult religion and to ignore it negates any victory and cancels out the labor to achieve it. They talk about ability and then turn around and wave the flag of mythical equality. They say we need to stand together and then openly pander to one group over another so they can claim adherence to part oft he very ideology they are fighting against.

I don't know what the solution is. Far too often it seems in supporting one action or cause you are against eventually leads to actually supporting another you know is wrong. Even indirectly.

It's a problem that I see no clear solution to and one that leaves us like the old made-up Ents. Unable to decide, confused by the choices and standing around doing nothing as a group.

Until our hands are forced at least we can...

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!!!!

  1. Good post. Don't you think that all of this confusion and coercion is all part the master plan to make us all serfs again? We are after all the vast mass of unwashed to the PTBs. I am not sure what the solution is other than withdrawing to farthest degree you can and hide in plain sight.

    1. Carl - I kinda have problems with the TPTB dividing us theory. Not that I disagree in many cases these so called PTB's wouldn't start wars and such for their own gain but just who there powers are is a problem and what it is they really think they are gaining is baffling.

I mean if I was a Power why would I have changed anything from the 1950's socially? Add more Women to the workforce? You get billions and trillions of dollars spent and resources wasted on Feminism. Bring in immigrants by the millions? You get an entire different culture and profits decline anyway. It's easy to point and say some people are getting richer because they are but if you follow the line back many of the elites who started this ball rolling now have families much reduced in power. It seems the very things many claim the elites do to divide us end up hurting them as well.

Sometimes I think what we really need is an alien invasion to keep humans from attacking each other constantly for their own gain.

    2. I cannot fault your logic at all, but yet here we are. We, non PTBs, will never understand their thinking, nor understand their view of themselves or us.

If I may relate a small incident that occurred on a flight I was on. During my career I traveled quite a bit and often managed to get upgrades to first class. On this flight I was in first class seated next to a seemingly nice gentleman, whom I chatted with. At this point in my life, my wife and I owned several rental properties, and this came up in our chat. I expressed some trepidation over having to follow up on rents being paid. This gentleman looked at me and said " Don't worry about it there are lots of little people to replace any you have problems with". I was totally ataken back. I never thought of my tenants as little people or the implied commodity he implied they were. I never (obviously) forgot this and tried to be a better landlord( hate that term) as a result.

    3. carl,
sometimes God gives you a glimpse of these completely different viewpoints, and not good ones.
we begin to see the predator under the well dressed exterior.
      it is horrifying.
i wonder how great a percentage of the population are actually unregenerate under the surface.
      shudder!!

  2. There appears to finally be a chance for the socialist (for lack of a better word to describe the various movements) to grab the whole world from the religion based philosophies that ruled for 2000 years or so. They will come close to doing it but the one mistake that will prevent it from ever happening is that they just negotiated a treaty to give radical Islam atomic weapons.

    1. Sf - That was and is a mistake no doubt about it. I am wondering if we will ever get that far though. If it wasn't for foreign faith in the dollar I think this ride would have ended years ago.

    1. Rob - Well I still say a financial collapse, sooner rather than later, is actually the best thing that can happen to us.

  4. Call it Yin and Yang, the pendulum swinging, or Ecclesiastes (Turn, turn, turn) but humankind moves in cycles. Having followed Prechter from Elliott wave international for many years and also followed Martin Armstrong to a degree, I am rather convinced that the period we are in is like the period from 1720 to 1785. Excess bubble mentality kicked off the South Sea bubble in 1720. (The Mississippi bubble of French origin occurred nearly the same time) Markets crashed (yes, there were markets then and we were a part of the British empire as well) and did not bottom until the end of the American Revolution. (Most wars begin at or near the bottom of market crashes...just as the US depression ended in 1932 but the after effects drug on and also drug us into WWII) It is my suspicion that our long depression began in the mid to later 60's and will continue to devolve for a few more decades. But we can survive...teach your children well. And NO, I don't know how deep the financial and moral gutter are...we seem to probe for new depths on a rather consistent basis.

    1. Indy - I certainly wouldn't deny the cycles theory, although the length between cycles seem to decrease as we go somewhat too.

I would say the one advantage we had in the first half of the 1700's was a lack of liberal multi-cultism that's for sure. It seems to be the major wrecking ball of the economy as near as I can tell.

  5. Except for some very fortuitous timing, which I don't think the Ents or Hobbits really planned out, the Ents would have had their clocks cleaned. If the whole Orc army hadn't been at Helms Deep, it likely wood not have gone well for them.

    1. Russ - Well I am not sure about that as the Hourns did take out a large chunk of the orc army when they tried to retreat through them at Helm's Deep. Not sure how many Hourns there were overall but enough to make a new forest spring up over night.

  7. One of your most thought provoking posts Preppy. I am not sure how to respond except to say that ultimately it was their enemies that involved them through the destruction of the forest. A Bridge Too Far perhaps?
