A Quick Update

The ewes who are in the paddock with our Bluefaced Ram are convinced I am crazy I think. I keep carrying these large boards outside and cutting them up then carrying them back inside. I don't know what they are going to do when I get this project finished because watching me run in and out seems to be their favorite pastime.

So despite being now three days behind schedule due to getting called into work and needing to take an afternoon off to pump out the basement I did make some progress again today and now only have a small section of wall left. Of course it's the section under and around the two windows and door. My mother also needs to make a final decision on whether or not I need to rewire her outside light too so I can do it before the paneling is up.

My new timetable isn't looking like I will get it finished before Sunday however as I need to make a trip tomorrow afternoon to look at a sickle blade mower I found at a good price.

Whatever the case I need to get this project finished because I cannot really put off wood cutting anymore after this week. I still have over half what I had stockpiled left but it is looking a bit low considering we are going into the height of the Winter weather now.

So it's going to be a busy weekend and I may not have time to post much but I need to get this finished like NOW before the next really bad cold snap hits us Sunday night.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!!

  2. You need to put an old TV out there for the sheep and put it on one of the old networks so that they can watch all the junk like the two legged sheep during the day. It may require getting a bunch of old sofas and putting them to where they can lay around while doing it.
More rain here but not cold so far.

  3. We had an inch of rain and thunderstorms last night, but the temp is supposed to get up about 20 degrees from the last two days. I hope the sickle mower works out!

  4. the weather here is going down to minus 20 C and not much warmer in the daytime. So much for blacksmithing in the yard until I get an indoor forge setup.

    1. dennis - Ya tomorrow they are saying down below 10 here at night and then back down to 0 on Tuesday. Yuck.

I really need to get started on a forge here myself. I got a spot set aside and an old wood stove I can make into a forge just haven't made it that far yet.
