Time to Check on Preps

We are very near a crisis point once again. Things could go either way and go quickly these days, one reason I have kept the prep level chart at 4 for so long is because we have not stopped looking over the edge. We are just waiting to see what will push us over. The entire world is connected in ways our ancestors never thought possible and a pebble thrown into a stream in Mongolia can effect things across the planet.

Oil prices falling, whether intentional or not, is shaking Russia to it's very core. Not only because of the energy prices either or even the useless sanctions. The fact that Russia doesn't have a petro-dollar to fall back on is hurting them just as much and I doubt they are going to stand such a circumstance any longer than they have to. Russia like the rest of the world except the US cannot print money to smooth over their bad choices.

It's not only Russia that is being effected either but other energy exporting countries without the deep pockets or reserve currency benefit as well are feeling the pinch. As near as I can tell every country in the world right now is suffering from either reduced economic growth, reduced manufacturing, high unemployment or a combination of them all.

At least those who are not actually already fighting a war of some kind anyway.

Inside the US, just as I predicted years ago, the various left conglomerate groups are coming apart at the seams. The enforcers of the Multi-Cult agenda (Ie. The Cops) are running straight into the catch 22 they helped create. No matter how much the police state would like to turn the average rural American into a terrorist and ignore the rampant crime in the cities they just can't. The victim political agenda the Femocrats and government supporters have been pushing for over five decades is now biting the hand that fed it. Democrat politicians and city governments must either uphold the laws against one of their favored groups or start a war with other favored groups.

White Americans who have not attached themselves to one of the left special interest groups are now more unified than ever. They are for the first time in recent history fighting back against the constant flow of White guilt accusations and no longer afraid to point out the facts.

Cities are losing power, countries across the globe are going dark and military's are building up.

The US's lies and bogus financial numbers may be fooling most of Americans but the effects are being felt everywhere. Spending is falling. Riots are almost constant somewhere now, old ethnic states are flexing their new found muscle and wondering if they perhaps wouldn't be better off on their own.

I am not saying these events are going to go global but I would be prepared right now, this very instant for them to do so. These things could all snowball very quickly now.

Keep Prepping Everyone

  1. I can't argue with your conclusions.

    1. RP - I sure hope I am wrong though once again and these troubles blow over for more of the same right now. As much as I feel a financial collapse is actually needed to get us back on the path God has set out for us I truly hope as a father it doesn't include war and I pray it won't happen on Obummer's watch.

  2. All that I hear from the media is how everyone has more confidence in the economy than anytime in the last 6 years and how people are spending all kinds of money on cars and Christmas gifts. No worries.

    1. Sf - I know. Yet when I read zero hedge and other sites they show how far down spending was on Black Friday and since etc. etc. What I see doesn't jive with what they are telling me in the bought and paid for media.

    2. I'm still spending money, because I am preparing for a bleak future soon where whatever green cash is left in our account after financial armageddon will be valueless. Food and tools and -you know- are worth more to me than the green paper stuff. We recently bought a needed new car (used cash) and replaced aging, less energy efficient appliances because I would rather do that now than have the old stuff broken down and not be able to replace it. Think a LOT of us who still have money and jobs are doing that, not just blowing it on useless stuff.

    3. Anon - Those with any brains anyway. For the sheeple savings numbers actually rose over this last quarter. They don't see the big picture enough to make smart moves like you are doing but they know enough to start saving for emergencies and such now because there is no confidence.

  3. I so totally agree with your observations!

    1. DFW - Like I said above I hope I am wrong for at least another 2 years or so and I hope the parts that could lead to war are taken out of the calculations.

    1. Anon - That's part of it. I think some have reached beyond Clowerd Piven though and were hoping to reach for the world as well.

  5. We have everything we need here. 20 acre farm, lot's of preserved food. Water supplies. Bug out location in mountains. Enough supplies to keep black powder weapons going forever, crossbow, several bows re curves and compound. Ammo stocked, from 22 to 50 cal . But all for hunting. (50 cal is antique black powder) All the game we ever need, plus chickens. Actually we have had all this for almost 30 years. Just kickin it old school : )

  6. Anon@9:08 reminded me of some preps I habitually do that may be helpful. Whenever I buy equipment, appliances, vehicles, etc. I either negotiate a service manual as part of the purchase, or immediately get one. If they don’t have a service manual, for say a chainsaw, I would probably take it back before I even fire it up. My reasoning is if the manufacturer doesn’t care about whether it can be repaired, why would I want to own it. It doesn’t matter how well I maintain it, eventually it’s goin break. When that happens, if it isn’t something simple to fix, it is much easier to have it on the shelf than to try to find it. It is especially important on the more efficient appliances. An old gas water heater is a simple thing with very few parts that can go bad. A 98% efficient water heater will have a control board; a vent fan, since the exhaust may not be hot enough to rise without help; sensors to shut it down if the vent fan isn’t working; a condensate drain; an permanent electrical anode, instead of the old zinc sacrificial anode; etc. Figuring out why you don’t have hot water is much more complex because it could be any one of those extra things, or even one of the sensors monitoring them that has gone bad and shut it down.

    Best,
    Dan

    1. Dan - Good advice and practices to think about. Personally I try and stay as far away from control boards, vent fans and electrical anodes as much as possible :)

Seriously though I see your point. Not sure if a service manual would help me much on some of the appliances though. I do make sure I have em for all my engine stuff just never have with electronics.

    2. Dan, I agree with all you say. As for new cars and appliances with computer components, these are almost impossible to avoid. They are energy and therefore monetarily efficient for NOW, but if the grid goes down and something other than the financial blowout occurs, most of us are all toast (by the old slow over-the-campfire method) anyway. At our house, we have always been savers (hence the new car paid for with cash), but ya gotta know when to hold 'em (cash), and know when to buy goods you hope will last a while. Of course, "lasting a while" for anything new is a dubious notion! :-) But it's better than allowing the banks or the gov to confiscate cash by holding "bank buy-ins: (aka theft). Our best currency -not just reserve currency - is prayer anyway.

  7. A dark outlook indeed, but one with grains of truth I feel. Perhaps tis time that I thought of battening down hatches and taking steps towards more self sufficiency?

    1. John - I think that is the wisest steps anyone can take. Even if we putter along for another decade I seriously doubt things are going to move in a different direction ever again. Every day we deplete the resources a little more and grow the population a little more. Eventually it will collapse the question is when will it collapse for you, me etc. They may not all collapse at the same time.

  8. PP,

With this post you've hit the bulls eye on the target.
May I also suggest purchasing extra gas if possible, and storing it in gasoline containers since prices have dropped.

    1. Sandy - Storing gas is always a must. I use stabil to keep mine fresh but there are a few products out there. I actually have an above ground tank for the vehicles too which I do need to fill but even at these prices we are talking a bit of cash :)
