Things Are Getting Even More Interesting

So the Chinese and Greek markets took a nosedive last night while today precious metals seem to be bouncing back during US trading times. Regular commodities like iron, oil etc. are still falling due mostly to the economic slowdown in the rest of the world, while the US government continues to pump out their propaganda under reporting inflation (which should be deflation by the commodities prices but isn't) and therefore over reporting GDP by an even larger amount because of the under reporting.

As I mentioned last week there is a very interesting (and dangerous) storm brewing across the world right now.

It kinda reminds me of a time I was on a hill out West of Wichita with a group of friends watching four or five tornadoes wandering around off in the distance. They threaded themselves between this farm and that small subdivision, skipped over a gas station but you just knew eventually one of em was going to connect with something.

The only question is who is going to be the unlucky one?

Perhaps they can pull this one out of the fire once again. I have mentioned before that the financial and government elite have surprised me many times over the last few years so maybe they got another trick up their sleeves. Still from an abstract imaginative world view this is a fascinating watch. The poor and middle class across the world are tapped out. The financial world has completely detached itself from the consumers and all economic indicators like trucking, dry shipping, commodity prices etc. point to a complete down turn yet nothing seems to touch the financial markets. They are flying on something, somehow, but I can't see what it is. There is simply, absolutely, nothing I see holding them up except piles of FIAT dollars.

I don't know guys. Something looks creepy here. I am not sure the rest of the world is ready to call it quits on this phoney mess yet anyway and in the end that is the real lift the economy runs on... Faith. Yet I went and opened up all my ammo cans this evening just to reassure myself. There's a storm brewing, it may pass us by once again but it looks pretty dark from this angle.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!

  1. We have the same feeling that something is about to pop. They can only lie up to a point before something gives... and not in a good way. The economy is not recovering, wages have been stagnant for years and just look at food prices. This last time I bought bacon I noticed that the packaging is NOT for 1 pound anymore. It is 12 ounces but still goes for the same price as what the pound packaging was a month ago. Same goes for canned tomato sauce. Yeah, some recovery....

    1. hobo - And yet the media still screams recovery and some places claim they are booming. As you noticed it's starting to not only get ugly but angry out there.

  2. We are in some deep stuff in this country and then around the world. Frankly, I thought it would have caved long before now.

    1. JMD - Me too. They have amazed me at their ability to kick that can down the road.

  3. I think a big difference now from say several decades ago is that for the first time around the world, the media is basically state run or aligned with the governments. We used to laugh at the news agencies in communist countries and how the lied to the people and were believed but now we have the same situation here. Just on this mornings news the first two stories were about all the new jobs that came to the area this year (no mention of how they were low paying part time, no benefit jobs) and the other was how the economy was recovering all across the country and our worthless governor was going to make an announcement today about how good things were. There was only agreement, nobody dared to expose the lies, just cheerleaders.

    1. Sf - That's a very valid point. I guess they saw how well Pravda used to do for the old CCCP. I think some of it has to do with the good ol liberal network in the colleges too that only promote the panderers.

  5. I've noticed a few ads on the radio toting municipal bonds, and how wonderful they are for investors. I think this is the same group that tried to get people to invest in payphones when the cell phone market was exploding. I've learned, after watching for a few decades, that I'm of the theory that I'll put my money were they aren't advertising.

    +1 Sunnybrook farm

    1. Oh yeah, and for about a month now, the local car dealership has been using the "We'll do your taxes for you as a down payment" advertising. It's the earliest I can remember them doing that...

    2. K - Ya I have noticed a number of scam financial ads like that. They seem to come after the ship has left the dock too.

The guys at the dealership claim business is good but I know my calls for runs have been way down.

  6. I decided to look at Yahoo News last night just to check out the headlines. Every other story was about the price of oil or oil supply.
I don't know whats going on, can't guess what will happen. All we can do is prepare for the worst as best as we are able. That and continue to not watch reality TV.... that crap is just depressing.

    1. Max - The oil prices dropping is putting almost the entire world (as far as governments go) into a state of crazed fear. It means what they have been trying to cover up for so long is sending up flares.
