Sunday Reading - But it's Different This Time

It has been my opinion that we have been on the very edge of a collapse for close to five years now. We are never more than one good Black Swan event away at best. It should be obvious to everyone with half a brain and a viable internet connection that incidents, statistics and data have not been accurately reported to the world of peons like us in years. Anyone not living in an area of the country with a direct line to government largess can clearly see growth has stalled and probably ended.

There are many however who will loudly proclaim a collapse is impossible because "It is different this time". Yet I also see some who ridicule that statement and claim nothing is different.

Well I am here to tell you that it is in fact very different this time but that sure as hell is not a good thing by any sense of the imagination.

Empires collapse eventually and although there are certainly many similarities between the "United States" of today and other empires which have come before, especially in a few important key areas what is going to prove the most dangerous for the long term are the very differences I refer to.

Balkanization - Is the first thing that springs to mind. As a Nation segments of our population have been literally facilitating open colonization of large areas by peoples from every corner of the globe. It is a madness that has gone far beyond mere sharing of the bounty or attempting to bring in "more Americans" as they have made it so inviting and easy that the majority of the immigrants do not think of themselves as "Americans" at least not it a non-hyphenated way.

Of course the radical lefty Femocrats hope they can merge all these different peoples and cultures into one unified force against the White Americans but when the debt fueled economy of free stuff runs dry that is a pipe dream that will fall apart quickly. Leaving as I said Balkanization in many parts of the country.

This voluntary mass balkanization has reached numbers and variety that I simply do not think, or cannot find any instance that even remotely mirrors it from anytime in history. Rome came close in some ways but only in the form of satellite states not huge ghettos or population pockets scattered across the original nation and in every major or semi-major city like we have today.

Welfare - Of course the first thing everyone thinks of is "bread and circuses" but Welfare in America is actually a phenomenon so insidious it pretty much includes 100% of the population and most of them do not consider themselves as actually being on welfare for that matter. It doesn't matter what you call it. It doesn't matter how you got it. A check from the government, Federal, State or Municipal is welfare. It's the same principal as paying taxes, those who get back 5 grand a year because of earned income or whatever but only paid 2 grand in taxes over the year will still swear they are tax payers and you will not convince them otherwise.

All levels of government have been bloated with employees for decades. They have been forced to use public sector jobs as social engineering tools since the 1960's. Just another form of welfare and like the tax payer example anyone who believes they paid in some small amount are convinced they are not receiving welfare in return but if you do not directly control assets that retain some value in a financial collapse the end result is the same. You get paid in useless dollars.

Welfare doesn't end simply with a government check either. I was serious when I said it touches 100% of the population my friends and I am not trying to single any given group out. From farmers who expect the big AG payout, Professors in their comfortable Tenured positions, company CEO's with their government contracts. Believe me it is EVERYBODY...

Why is this important you may ask? Well in any given collapse most of the population was not effected on such a base level.  99% of them had to have a livelihood already in place from their own resources or they would not be among the living. We have never before witnessed a collapse where so much of the population depended whole scale on government checks and that is a very dangerous problem that has never been seen before. If you can be honest with yourself enough to let the sheer size of this problem work on your mind you are way ahead of the game.

Feminism - To rise up out of the ashes of a collapse will require a team effort between the genders and let's face it only a very small sliver of our population, both male and female, are capable of working together today. Feminism has not simply destroyed our Women but it has changed the very fabric of what our young Men will think of as their social responsibilities. I am certainly not saying they have not been justified in their attitude but that justification will not help us survive now will it?

In fact the very nature and backlash of Feminism is so bad it boggles the mind even more than the idea of everyone being dependent on government hand outs. The chaos that would reign as the old established societal norms re-emerge but are fought along the way tooth and nail simply stagger the mind.

Instant Gratification/Just in Time Inventory - When has any society or empire in the History of the planet ever seen such things as we have today with the internet, television and mass shipping/warehousing with over night delivery?  When have we been able to contact anyone we wanted across the globe almost immediately? When have we been able to see days in advance an approaching storm or known ahead of time our fruit was drying up ont he other side of the world?

Never. That's when. And it will be a doozy when it goes away as well. It will require a whole new world view just to survive a few weeks and that's if the collapse happens during a warm season. Contemplate it happening this Winter for instance.

There are a few more differences I could add but I think I have covered the truly dangerous ones. Feel free to mention any I missed and certainly if you can find or know of a society that had any of the differences I mentioned above please let me know.

The bottom line is this collapse when it happens is going to be like nothing ever seen before and worse than even those who have researched it can guess.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!

  1. It's gonna be ugly considering that few people can actually grow their own food, which was one saving grace from the Great Depression.

    1. K - I know right. So many who are even interested in learning to prep have really never done the numbers either. They think six tomato plants and a couple cucumbers will get em through. Scary.

    1. JMD - So many are just in denial. The final analysis in my opinion comes down to how long the dollar stays viable internationally. When foreign interests no longer want it then the real pain begins and all these little differences will really show how much they have cost us as a Nation.

  5. I've been faithfully preparing for the collapse for more than 28 years. Sometimes I feel like the Methodists who were told the world was going to end, sold all their worldly goods, and then nothing happened. Just about anything has to be better than the way things are now, so I say the sooner the better. I don't know how we will get rid of the system we have any other way.

    1. Harry - It's gonna happen at this point the only reason it hasn't is because foreign interests have bent over backwards to keep it from coming apart. Not because they like the US but to preserve their own wealth. It takes time for them to shift gears but they have been doing it for over a decade now.

  7. I'm still catching up from being out of town over the weekend without internet. I left this link on your next post but it really applies to this one so I will put it up again. They are starting to mess with the dollar with this new July 1 law. It could be the beginning of the tipping point.
