Apparently the Orchard Guy was Wrong.... Or a Prophet

In between rain storms yesterday I took a tour of the Small-Hold grounds like I always do and when I turned just past the Bee Hives into the Peach and Apricot section of the yard I noticed I had a couple of Peach blooms.

They weren't there Saturday I can tell ya that much.

Of course like I mentioned before it's suppose to get down to 25 tonight and it's actually snowing outside now, although not sticking, so maybe the Peach grower down the road was simply being Prophetic when he said all the Peach blooms froze. Or maybe he has a different variety than I do.

It's hard to say. I know the Redbuds were on the very edge of opening up yesterday along with some of the Pears, Plum and Cherry I see around. The Bradford Pear ornamentals are blooming everywhere but I wonder what we are going to see come tomorrow morning. All the Dandelions that  were showing their bright yellow heads yesterday are now closed up tight. Who can blame em? It's damned cold outside today and windy besides to go along with the wet.

Winter is sure letting us know she still has some teeth left today.

For the first time in over a week I fired up the wood furnace again which put the cats back into Winter mode as they shuffle around for a spot directly in the stream of warm air coming out of the blower. Add in the fact the Wife asked me to simmer a pot of beans for her today so now it even smells like Winter all over again. A hint of wood smoke mingled with simmering beans wafting through the house accompanied by the musical sound of sleet hitting the windows....

And I was just getting used to that wet, earthy Spring smell.....

It's just been a good day to do housework and piddle around although I did venture out to my Dad's place to say howdy and put a swarm trap up in his back yard. Yesterday he was complaining about it being almost too hot to cut wood and was looking a little over tired by the time we were finished so I wanted to check in on him. I have a feeling his days of even just hanging out on the tail gate or driving the tractor while I cut maybe coming to an end soon. He get's worn out pretty quickly now.

Just a quiet day of staying snug inside. I better go get started on the dishes before the wife get's home though.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!!

    1. TB - It wasn;t as bad as they were claiming. A lot of rain, a Lot of snow actually but it all meted and I don't think it got below 30 degrees last night or if it did it didn't last long at all.

    1. Sf - Ya they passed that back in 2010 I believe but like most things Femocrats pass they always give themselves as long a grace period as they can before it hits. Basically they are talking about the law that requires ALL banks across the world to report on US citizens holdings and such. It has been slowly coming into effect as some of the stuff from that legislation has alreayd taken effect. They are going to do to us what happened in Cyprus I expect.

One thing I agree with the video whole heartedly on is to buy Silver I will say that much...
