The Long Slow Slide

It's pretty damned obvious how this global collapse is unrolling itself. Slow, yes indeed very slow and after five years the same question is on everyone's lips. When?

Well as I have pointed out the when has already happened it just comes so slowly we don't notice it right off. That is old news as well and all of us have read it over and over again but it is important to revisit it occasionally and once again mark our doom sticks accordingly.

With the recent announcement that the Fed will not stop or even taper the QE infinity and beyond move, each of us needs to see what it has brought us so far so we can prepare for what is to come. The fed in essence is slowly sacrificing everyone to keep the can rolling. In point of fact they are also hurting themselves going from a portfolio of a couple hundred Billion to one of over 3 Trillion now filled with debt that will never be repaid. The difference is they can afford it, we can't.

All the while they tell us inflation is near zero while each of us know this in fact is just not true. Some commodities and prices are not inflating but where it counts, and those areas that effect us most, it is inflating.

Government fees, taxes and penalties are also inflating in record amounts. These items are also designed to hit land owners and the middle class much harder than the majority of Americans which basically leaves most of us defenseless against them in today's mob rule democracy.

Don't let the length of time they have managed to drag this thing out fool you my friends we have never wavered from the course of destruction. There has been no change in direction only creative accounting and debt swallowing in amounts just large enough to keep things going.

For us this means continued belt tightening and refusing to accumulate more debt personally. It means more of our money will go to tyrannical government rent payments as we continue to make ourselves more self sufficient in food and energy to combat inflation.

At some point this house of cards is going to fall apart and our challenge remains staying viable until it explodes. Each of us who falls will make the collapse that much worse when it happens.

In truth the top 1% are getting hit just as hard as we are. A look at the FED balance sheet proves that and eventually they will refuse to swallow the debt as well.

When that happens it's all over but the rioting.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!

    1. Kim - Thanks for commenting!!! And yes I do as well to a point but int he end by making ourselves prepared we do in fact help them some as well.

      We are their only hope.

    1. SF - Right after I wrote this post I noticed one over at zero hedge that said the same thing but in a more direct way. The FED is the new bubble.

They will be until they cannot take anymore and then watch out. All this time I been thinking the reserve currency and petro dollar really meant something but I believe now I was wrong. All that matters is how much debt the fed is willing to swallow.

  3. I don't feel sorry for any of them. Not one darn bit.

My old company just shuttled 160,000 of its employees to Obama-care this week. At first I was seriously upset at this, until this morning.

I got to thinking about the type of employee I used to manage. Most are/were low information, emotional knee-jerk voters (both races I might add) who most likely voted for Obama....TWICE. Now most of them are getting a dose of what they brought on the rest of us.

With all the grief I had to deal with dealing with some of these stupid people, I find it almost pleasurable thinking about how they are now getting what they voted for.

    1. Matt I see your point and agree with you as well. When I mentioned those who are unaware I am thinking of those who are not in a position to really know yet. I mostly think of the young here who maybe part of the problem but just don't have the experience we do. Another reason unrestrained voting is such a bad thing. Many of them are going to have to learn the hard way and that does make me feel sad.

  4. I quite seriously expect the US economy to collapse in six months, give or take. If I'm wrong & it takes longer, that'll be no reason to celebrate. Just makes the angle of the final slide that much steeper.

    1. RP - At this point it is hard to say. You may be right I just don't know how much debt the FED is willing to take on before they decide it is too much. Can they go another 3 Trillion? They have managed to avoid hyper inflation because nothing really trickles down to the spenders I don't see that changing.

  5. I stand with Rev. Paul on this one. I sit here and watch empty streets, other than the walkers, and the occasional bike rider. The bell to my front door rings less each day. My taxes have increased to the point I fear the mailman and what his little federal letters portend. Hitch your belt, we've a long hard ride ahead.

    1. Stephen - Yes they have created a zombie economy in so many places but the disconnect is so great they don't even see it. We may in fact see the collapse in areas (Like Detroit) long before it actually happens.

    1. Lorraine - Yep they are padding the economy and because of the disconnect they are only helping those at the very top and those at the very bottom. Meanwhile that debt is going back into the FED. This is the key because eventually it will fill up and when that happens this whole thing will go down fast.

    2. Preppy-

Was trying to post but then my I phone died.

What I was saying was that everyone is out of money so there are no funds to pay the ridiculous salaries and benefits for the elected. There are people in my building who are retired in their early fifties who have worked at the Pentagon, are in the military etc. These people are out farting around while the rest of us non- gov plebes are scrimping. These people are alive but not productive.

The USA produces nothing, so the next 'industry' will be the criminalization and shakedown of working white middle class people who dare to think outside of bring a government plebeian and who will make every effort to self sustain.

Fines, taxes etc for violations, that is what will happen. Then the fight will begin- in fact, it has

  7. P.P. another great stop and think post. My wife and I have zero debt. My last car bought was paid for in cash, its 12 years old. Downside we don't have a house or land. Only have our monthly bills, rent, power, food, gas for car.

    1. Rob - I don't own a car that is less than 15 years old myself. Except the wife's I think her's is only 9 years old. I only pay cash for them as well.

You will have one advantage and that is staying clear of the government rent we have to pay to own property. They are gonna try and get all they can before this is done.

    2. You are right about the government rent. The fact is, there is no motivation for ownership of anything in the USA.

In Arlington VA, county board people are sending out manpower to older middle class white people's homes to look for any and EVERY code violation so as to generate revenue. They are doing this unannounced and when the owners are not home.

Same thing with cars. A mom was telling me at the park today that the county board was asking certain neighborhoods for their residents' car registrations in an effort against to 'catch' people with violations

  8. I said on one of your other postings that if things are going to blow up, I wish they would do it now. I'm not kidding. 10 years ago I was in better shape to handle it than I am now. The longer the process goes on, the weaker I seem to get over a wide spectrum of issues. If the society continues to degrade, steadily but imperceptibly, one day I'll wake up living in a cardboard box under the overpass and being beaten up by roving gangs of 2nd graders.

    1. Harry - We are living it even now. This latest bout you been having about the cars is a good example of the government getting every dime they can out of us. The trick is to survive this stage of the process.

From what I know of your situation I would be willing to bet that before long your children will be back at home and your wife will cease all talk of a retirement home.

Then you will be in a much better position to be the greyback patriarch you should be :)

Those with family to retreat to or to come back will be ahead of the game. Look at Greece and all the young people who returned to the country.
