Product Review and Update

We seem to be getting another little semi warm spell around the Small-Hold once again. Yesterday warmed up nicely but then we got a North wind blowing in that cooled it back off so the bees were not flying at all but today they all came out. They were hitting the feeders I put out for them as well. So far so good as I still have seven hives that each showed a fair amount of activity coming andgoing.

With the help of some posters and raising up my seedling shelf I am now ready to start my seeds. I am only two weeks behind schedule though but I doubt it will matter too much it should still be early enough to get them started and grown a bit before they move outside. I have had the pots ready for two days now and the Mrs. PITA cats haven't messed with them so I think I am ready to plant.

I wanted to also post a little product review about a flashlight I picked up at a gun show a few weeks back. It's just a little thing that I bought only because it took a single AA battery which I liked because of my solar powered battery charging set up. After I got it home I was impressed by the actual brightness of the thing. To be honest I never even intended to write a review of this little flashlight nor even bothered to look at the name on it until I actually took it out and used it last night. I had set it on my desk and forgotten about it truth be known and just snatched it up as an afterthought last night on my way out to the wood stove.

The name on the side say's "Gun Shack G2". It will take a single AA battery or a CR123. With the rechargeable AA's I use it doesn't shine more than 40 minutes or so total but this little flashlight will pump out the candle power let me tell you. I was illuminating coyote eyes and able to actually make out features on the critters out past 50 yards last night as they were standing on the field edge. A link I found for this flashlight claims it is 130 lumen. It also has a soft press button on the back that allows you to dim the light or switch it to a strobe effect.

At 20 bucks for the thing you can't go wrong. It is small, eats batteries quick and can't really be mounted on a firearm but if you want something to brighten up the place in extreme emergencies I would recommend it. It's also very easy to carry around as it isn't much larger than a folding knife or pen. I wasn't expecting much just a small light to have laying around but the brightness impressed me enough to write about it.

Still making Spring/Summer project idea lists and thinking about a new experiment.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!
