Refugees, Problem Children and Government Propaganda

About half a day into this horrible Arctic invasion and so far only one semi-Potential problem. Our two largest (mother plus daughter) Goats otherwise known as Mommy and Nubby decided to kick Nugget out of the goat house. Actually I think it is more a Mommy goat thing as Nubby is more than happy to share with Nugget but about 8AM I look out and see Nugget looking miserable curled up in a ball and covered with snow right at one of the entrances to the goat house shivering. I watched her get up and try to go in but Mommy goat pushed her back out.

This is not the first time she has done this although she doesn't do it often anymore but it seems to be a common occurrence when the weather is especially cold. I had actually planned on it so now Nubby is inside a large pet carrier filled with hay sleeping in the middle of the front room floor.

I sometimes wonder if she doesn't plan this herself to be honest. Actually I am pretty sure the three goats have long been planning some way to get to move inside the house for a while now. I am not sure where they got the idea as only Nugget has ever stayed inside and then always in her huge carrier but maybe she told em stories? At any rate if they do get out of their pasture(s) they run straight for the porch and make all kinda of odd noises to get us to open the door. I suspect some of it is wanting treats but they love to lounge on lawn chairs every chance they get too and would prefer to have humans with them all the time anyway.

I am also happy to announce we still have 8 farm cats. Been a long time since I have seen more than 3 of them in one place and about half of them have not been inside that I know of since last Winter. I know they were all 8 here back in May when Mrs. PP and my son had the great cat wrangle and took em all to the vet. Luckily I had to work those two days.

On the very bright side. No new additions this year. In fact we have not had a new cat show up since my mother passed on. I often wonder if the two things are connected somehow but I am content to just leave that a mystery regardless.

I am giving the two Goats left outside and the Sheep double grain feedings for the duration of the storm. My outside temp reads 4 degrees right now and there are still two sheep out eating hay although they have moved to the bale right in front of the entrance to their inside stall. When I went to give em grain 8 of my 10 remaining sheep came out of that stall but I had seen Lilly out wandering around earlier on her own and was worried she had gotten lost.

I haven't seen the chickens since I let em out of the coop at about dawn. I am assuming they are inside the barn or under it in one area they often go to. During rain and snow periods they just stay in the barn all day usually. KInd of Comical when it snows so deep they get stuck in there and I have to go plow a  path for them to get out. I will prolly take them some chicken feed down there next time I go out.

So far so good we are surviving. Wanted to include this clip from Redacted on the latest Money Laundering  payment the Democrats are sending to Ukraine. Wonder what Kind of KIckback these crooks are getting?

This is my life today. Keeping the wood stove and furnace going and checking everything frequently plus reading and watching videos!!! Half a day done!!! Oh ya and it is the 22nd too which means more light each day for a while until this cold goes back where it belongs!!!

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!

  1. I think your talk show friends are correct. As I predicted 8 months ago, these idiots are losing, losing badly and obviously, and Zelensky’s royal visit is correctly being seen as a raised middle finger from the Establishment. It will soon be time for scapegoats… and Zelensky will have his day. It’s all kabuki theatre now.

This Ukrainian fiasco may well be a survivalist/prepper learning moment: when the govt tells you to stay home and don’t go anywhere…you may well be better off not listening to them or trusting them.

Tomorrow is going to be the last day of the cold snap here in Alberta…we’ll send you some warmer weather soon. 👍
