It barely got down below freezing today but with 18 to 20 mph Winds it felt pretty friggin cold, not to mention the Sun never peeked out at and it then drizzled snow on me all morning I was ready to go home and snuggle up to the wood stove. Alas it was not to be as I had to load up yet more firewood to begin splitting in preparation of the frozen hell that awaits us next week.
I still have a lot of work to do before this weekend and of course the car deliveries are not cooperating at all. The manufacturer seems determined to get all those 2022's they didn;t get delivered yet done by the end of the year now.
I also noticed one of the houses down the road about a bit over 1/4 mile away looked different today on my way home. It isn't a brand new house. Just a smallish little house that appeared on a larger than normal lot (maybe 3 acres) about four years ago right next to the subdivision that started out small back in the first bubble back in 07 and 08. That original subdivision kinda set there with only a few houses until about 2014 and then slowly had more houses added to it but in the back heading away from me. Sometime about 4 years ago however someone cut out about 4 lots from the front of their soybean field they had next to the subdivision and added this and a few other new houses.
I noticed a little over a year ago this house was sold again and had a couple in it all Summer. They even added in an metal garage and another storage building on the back property line and had a side by side with a couple parties there this Summer.
Today it appears the entire place is empty. It looked like someone had ripped something large through one of the front windows and took the bottom part of the window with it. They left the window laying in the yard however but are now allowing the curtain to blow in the wind. Otherwise all the buildings appear to open and vacant. No vehicles in the drive way that I noticed today at all.
No foreclosure or fore sale sign either. Just emptiness.
I wonder if it is about time for the ARM loans to start kicking in yet from the first part of the great immigration yet?
If you were going to walk away from an over priced property this would be the best time to it around here IMO. Right when the real cold is about to hit.
