Sunday X-mas Parade Tractor Time

It was time for the Christmas Parade in the little town that's down the road from us a couple of miles. I thought I would make Mrs.PP happy after I was gone all morning cutting wood and would go watch the parade with her. Mrs. PP is really into the whole holiday spirit thing. Yesterday I had to make a tree with lights for the side of out barn.

Anyway I just thought I would share some tractor pictures I took. Ya know being a small rural farming town the parade was just full of tractors but I think next year I might have to introduce a Ford or two into the heavily Farmall and International dominated parade.

So anyway we interrupt the normally doom and gloom Homesteading blog for a look at tractors on parade from the heartland.

Where Christmas still means something!!!! Enjoy!!!

As usual click for a larger image and Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!!

  1. You, and by you, I mean the girls, would look great in the parade on a Ford tractor. You might even need to hook up the trailer for all those girls...I can see it now. I suspect you'll have some explaining to do with Mrs. PP and all.

  3. Love tractors, and also that stone house in the first pic. Looks like the town where my mom lives in southwest MO.

    1. RP - They did a lot of work to that house just a couple years ago. Many of the old ones along that street have been tore down but about half of them are getting face lifts now too. This little town used to be much bigger back around 1900 but these days it is almost becoming a suburb in many ways or was until the housing thing in 08. Seems to have stabilized right now.

  4. Ok well these were not your normal tractor photos LOL :O) but all the same very nice :O).
Oh by the way, you might want to rethink the wood stove in the bedroom. There are many extra benefits to having one in your bedroom. We have been known to open the bedroom door just so we can have it cool enough to light the stove :O), you could always open a window if you don't have a door :O)..... you do need one with a glass door so you can see the fire, atmosphere you know :O)... I bet Mrs PP would LOVE it! I'm just sayin..... :O)

    1. Texan - Oh ya she would love it. It would be one more wood eating stove to fill and she would still snuggle down under 20 covers and I would have to hang half my body out with a fan just to dissipate heat and be able to sleep. Might set a mood I enjoy every so often but the other few days I would be sweating to death.

Maybe if I was 20 years younger I would think differently about it though :)

  5. Our parade was this afternoon but I didn't see any tractor girls, I think our girls all grew winter fur and went to hibernating for 6 months. It was sunny and warm, in the 50s so it was a nice day for it. I was walking up a back street to get to the parade and was by myself then suddenly found I was walking beside our congressman and we talked about the parade and the band and how my daughter was a senior. I couldn't bring myself to ask why they were destroying the country, I guess it would have made little difference. I think he does what he can but is obviously surrounded by idiots.

    2. To bad that ain't closer I would jump on it. It also has the egg crate grill cover I can't seem to find unless I buy one new. All the ones I see around here the grills are messed up beyond repair. Including my own lol.

  7. PP,

Great pictures of your town's parade. You should have been in the parade, doesn't matter if yours were a bit beat up.
