It's Not Looking Good

Just a couple of weeks ago Baltic Dry shipping fell to it's lowest point in 30 years to 498. It's not far from that low today sitting now at 508 having crashed 10 points this morning and the US market went spastic earlier this morning as well.  You could tell from the boards that panic was about to take hold. It was palatable. Most of the rest of the worlds major economies are in open recession, commodities are continuing to fall day after day and even oil refuses to make any sort of real come back taking more losses than gains.

In point of fact today is really no different than any other day :0)

The truth is a morning very much like this one has happened several times over the last couple of years. One of these days it is going to get away from them (whomever them is) and that will be that.

I have not decreased the prep meter in years because we have never been more than a small panic attack away from complete economic collapse since well before 2012. It literally could, and probably will, happen in a flash with barely a few hours of any actual notice. If any unless you continuously watch the boards.

Lately however these mini-panic/flash crashes have been growing in frequency and depth. I would recommend paying close attention and putting any emergency preps in a heightened state of readiness if you feel you may need to bug out because of a flash crash or longer term collapse.

One thing that can be said about illusions. When they go they go fast.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!!!!

When they go they go fast, and there will be many unprepared.

  2. I have tried to tell people I know about what is happening and even show the data but nobody will believe me. The illusion is so well done by manipulated reports and media misinformation that I don't think most will believe it until they see lava running down the mountain so to speak. These clowns have the emergency relief valves wired shut to keep the illusion going for as long as possible. They have used all the reserves up and when 2008 happens all over again, there won't be any fixing things.

    1. Sf - Yes they do have the valves shut down and they have redirected a lot of the pressure to areas within the US where it won't be as obvious or out of the country for the same reason. How long it will hold is anyone's guess but I think we are getting very close now.

  3. I'm seeing these financial talking heads on TV more and more reference something bad coming. But almost never does anyone really say, "Wait.....Wut?"

They just keep on going to the next headline.

Thing is, if you aren't already the know about what's coming, then these odd remarks don't register. They only get ignored because they won't fit into your personal complacency bias..... which ranges from "head in the sand" to "head up their *ss"

    1. Like the old saying about yelling fire in a crowded theater only strangely it is as if nobody wants to yell fire in a burning theater this time as a riot would occur or worse and the person sounding the alarm would be blamed rather than those who started the fire.

    2. @ SF:

Absolutely true. That's what would happen.

    3. I think that has a lot to do with the way are politicians act too. Even those we thought were different and truly wanted to be different until they get there and realize if they do what is right they will cause this thing to blow.

It's not always easy actually pulling the trigger.

  4. Hmm. I can't say I follow the stock market, but I do hear reports on the news when I'm in the car. It strikes me as odd that the media keeps saying the economy is great but the stock market is always down.

    1. Leigh - The economy is great as long as you are in the areas with a direct pipeline connection to the government, which is the only places these media types care about anyway. The pain is being redirected into the rural areas.

  5. It frightens me not a little bit. Renewed effort to tidy up those outstanding loose financial strings.

  7. The PTB can only keep up their house of cards for so long, and then reality will eventually bring it crashing down.

    1. Bob - Yes, the question is how much of it can they keep pushing off to the undesirables out here in rural America before the dam breaks?
