Critter Time

Basically there are two kinds of people who read this blog. Rugged men who enjoy tractors and farm life and those beautiful, intelligent, strong Women who love that type of Man and care deeply for the critters under their care.

Recently I learned Leigh over at 5 Acres & A Dream blog published a book about her Homestead critters entitled appropriately enough "Critter Tales".

Now I don't know a whole lot about the critters around their Homestead but I do know how I imagine all the beautiful Female readers of this blog look while out taking care of their livestock. So here are a few shots of how I imagine it would be......

I know they have cats!!!

And Chickens too!!!
                                                                          Goats!!!

Pigs!!!!

A Barn to keep them in :)

Maybe a Dog or two?

Not so sure about Sheep....

Or Horses.

Maybe a Cow or two?

They also have a tractor to help take care of all the critters and I am sure Leigh and all the rest feed them often....

Now of course as I explained this is just my view of critters around the farm. To see Leigh's view and to get a copy of her new book here's a link to her recent post about it....

As I understand it there is also a giveaway!!!

Oh ya click for a larger image.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!!!

  4. It is true. I often wear a halter top and daisy dukes when I go out to feed the sheep.

  5. I've said for years that we TRUE homesteading women ought to put out our own calendar with photos of how a hard working woman REALLY LOOKS....muck boots, work gloves, "barn clothes", and a five-gallon bucket in our hands.....I always carry a bucket....it helps me tote everything from weeds to seeds to treats for the goats.

I laugh when I think about what most men look like who sit around and gawk at the types of photos posted above! Dun-lap's diseased and balding!!! LOL Dream on, boys. Dream on!

    1. Anon - I suppose some of the men who look at pictures like that might be dreaming in an as if scenario. Some might just be reminiscing. I know there was a time in my life when there were at least some young Women around in half shirts and short shorts. Really I can remember it happening. :)
