A Happy New Year Awwwww

My Loyal Readers and Fellow Bloggers came through and reaffirmed my faith in preppers and sustainers who are not under the Bambi spell of utopian doom!!!

There is still hope out there :)

Now so everyone doesn't think I am a total monster and animal hater here is a recent pic of the little Kitten I rescued from the gravel road 30 miles from nowhere when he was no bigger than the palm of my hand. I have really small hands too btw.

My son named him Izreal after some hero from some game he plays but most everybody else just calls him the little Bean. Here is a pic after Bean and his adopted brother Pantheon figured out if they tried to cuddle up with the Queen in her bed she would move leaving it all to them. This is on what we call the cat counter which is an area we set up specifically for the cats where  the furnace blower hits them directly and as I posted a few days ago sometimes they will lay in that cat bed for weeks and not move.

He looks awful pleased with himself doesn't he?

Actually he does have reason to be pleased. He cannot yet jump the distance to the kitty counter but figured out that if he sneaks behind the old entertainment center that we never use anymore and then climbs unto a shelf, he can then hop unto the counter and pretend he is a grown up.

The two Male cats all think of him as their little brother. The two Females seem to think he is a spawn of the devil and should be put down immediately.

So I am now home after some 14 hours on the road. Might have been an eventful trip though because I think I found a hay mower for the 8N while down in the Boonies. More on that later if it pans out.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!

  1. Supervisors in training, you guys are cold out there!
Our main supervisor made a dash into the cellar when I brought in a load of wood so it is usually a cold night coming when she makes that move.

    1. Sf - I have noticed the boy cats don't really follow me around like the girls do. Except for the youngest one the boys pretty much just lounge around while the girls seem to like to go hunting or supervise my projects.

It's colder than it has been but so far this kind of cold is nothing. It got down to about 7 or 8 degrees last night and suppose to get to maybe the low teens tonight but the wind is not bad. Most of the real cold appears to be West of us dipping down into Oklahoma and Texas. All I know is this is nothing compared to last year so far. I was out in just two shirts and not really cold.

  3. Like I said before, if god is a cat, you're on the fast track to heaven. And if god is a rodent....well then, you're pretty much screwed. As would most of us.

    1. Sandy - Thank you same to you.

Ya he is getting cuter he has such large ears though it took a while for him to grow into them enough to get passed that kinda awkward ugly stage.
