Little Progress So Far This Winter

 

This has not been a very productive late Fall or early Winter so far although it has brought a lot of work with it. We did get an early cold snap in November and trying to rebuild my wood stores almost from scratch has taken up about all the time I have to devote after my normal employment requirements are met. It has also been really busy at work too.

End result is I have not really gotten any of my hoped for projects done or any started for that matter.

Things are changing in a big way. Not only around here and personally but across the entire world I fear. I will admit that 5 or 10 years ago I considered myself  much more of a political protestor and/or activist even a possible combatant sort of guy if it went that far. I belonged to a couple of organizations, attended more than a few protests. Was even arrested at one along with being threatened by an arrest at a couple others. 

After Trump won I kinda figured we had also won a breathing period. I still think I was right, we did. I think we would still be in that period today if the Femocrats hadn't up'd their cheating while the other deep state crooks helped em. I personally thought the legal protections of the Constitution would hold but in that I was mistaken so the Femocrats have doubled down and pushed out aiming for worldwide dominance rather than just US looting and control. While they were planning I was getting older and after a couple of health issue/scares I have come to accept my role (if any) and The Small-Hold's role going forward is going to have to be different. Exactly what and how different I am still determining. 

So I do bounce around a lot.

Winter is almost half over by my reckoning.  Oh sure many will say otherwise but the Winters around here for me generally go from November to the Middle of March when the growing season preps begin. This time period also ran concurrently with a yearly migration by a pair of Bald Eagles that came here and used the area usually centered on my farm as a nursery of sorts. About 50 yards due North of my property line is an old sycamore tree with an Eagle nest in it that I know they raised a few chicks in. Since the early 2000's the mated pair would bring one of their juvenile off spring here and leave them each Winter then come and retrieve them about Mid-March. Usually the young bird would almost always be seen sitting in the oldest and largest of my old oak trees all Winter long until time to head North once again. I almost always was out watching when the parents would bring the new offspring by and leave them here or come back and pick em up.

I have not seen that ritual in 3 years now but this afternoon I looked down and there was a full grown adult complete with White head sitting in that Oak. I am interested to see if the tradition is going to start again.
