Life is Getting Good Again!!!

I have always sortof thought my best talents were my powers of observation, I always seemed to have a knack for spotting changes or not, even with general patterns, even after years. Sometimes I admit I notice changes that I believe are more permanent than they actually end up being in the end too, a lot of that maybe just wishful thinking with some confirmation bias that I am trying to sift out as much as possible these days. The last few weeks have been a constant change around here that much I am sure on but I am not quite ready to call anything a permanent change yet and really in the end I don't care. It is enough for me to know that things are finally changing and no matter what it can't get any worse anyway than what our own government, elected officials, media and their big business pals have been setting us up for over the last few decades regardless.

Just to let any readers who care know my new chickens are doing quite well. One of them is obviously a homebody and rarely is far from the coop and the area right around it which includes the porch and driveway. She magically appears any time someone goes outside and almost immediately sidles right up wanting attention. The other two are almost always close to where ever the rooster and the old hen are and are learning the ropes and discovering the favorite haunts like I mentioned the over grown bush area but they found the old ram pen today with the dirt bath under the barn that is attached to it. They spent most the day around there and even managed to stay in that area even when I got the tractors out and moved four round bales this morning.

Messing around with tractors is usually a surefire way of making new residents freak out but today it seemed to excite everyone except the sheep who were banished to the East pasture for it. Funny enough they complained but when I opened the gate for them they stayed out there anyway.

Anyway having a more leisurely schedule now and time to actually get stuff done after almost 3 years of constant time restraints is really improving my attitude immeasurably. I was not only able to get my old favorite lawn mower down to the repair shop today I also put the blade on the 8N and managed to begin leveling out the huge ruts left in front of our dumpster too. I found the first sprout in my seedlings this morning as well. I guess it had just been too cold the last few weeks to get em going and I was beginning to  think I had planted em in poison until I saw one finally pushing through today.

Locally the migrant construction workers (and by that I mean just construction workers I don't know where they are from originally) now seem almost completely gone. They seem to have been replaced by old people, mostly old women, starting about 10 AM each morning now. I don't know where all the old women are from. I have never seen em before but now starting about as I said 10AM or so there are old women literally everywhere. Especially the gas stations and the two local area Dollar General stores that I affectionately call "Little Targets". I now stay as far away from Dollar General as I can. We have had two out here for a couple years now but these days they are impossible to go into because of all the old women being in the way.

You might ask how I know the construction crews are disappearing. Well almost for the last year and a half trying to get about anything from a local convenience store has been impossible.

Hungry on your way to work... Suck it everything is cleaned out.

Like Casey's Cheeseburgers? Too bad Joe the dry wall guy took em all.

These days when I walk up to a cheap food case at any local convenient store all I see are dozens of old women and literally 50 breakfast sandwiches left over from the early morning shift that no one bought and something served with a hot cheese that the old women won't touch no matter what. The end result still means nothing for me but I can tell these local stores have no clue what is going on either. They stand around wondering what is up as they throw away 200 breakfast sandwiches and a couple of dozen meatloaf sides with Pepperjack cheese every afternoon. Well suck it up. You too have had it pretty easy the last couple years.

I just hafta laugh. Not that I like to laugh at other's bad luck but I will laugh at the end of the easy money and cheap credit Hell I been living through the last three years. Especially since it isn't entirely over yet. I just had to hike about 300 yards to the back of my hay field to pick up some piece of plastic big enough to cover a small car and it's attending cardboard sheet that obviously blew in from some new house construction somewhere nearby  I can finally buy lumber and supplies I been needing for minor repairs the last three years now.

I have also noticed a marked decrease in the side by side rock climber garage queen traffic the last couple of weeks. I was on the road many times today and only got behind one of those things ONCE!!!

I hope their side by side loans all got foreclosed on.

I am far from done expressing the changes I see around here. I have now mowed my yard four times this Spring and have not seen even one motorcycle rider flipping me off as he tries to balance the cow hanging on behind him and screaming about a little grass on the road. I have it from another local that the so called Motor cycle club made from some easy credit storage shed down the road is now gone and the firepit foreclosed on. Good riddance. I can now mow the ditch next to the road unarmed once again.

This area has managed to survive yet another easy credit housing boom I hope so with a little luck it won't get any worse for the rest of my old life now.

More to come tomorrow!!

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!!
