It's Picking Up Speed Now

On the local radio this morning they made a big deal news announcement that one of the small cities chamber of commerce had convinced a company to locate a packaging plant in the area. They droned on and on about them being some international business and how it would help the economy then got to the punch line. It would bring in an estimated 20 new jobs.

Twenty.

They wasted air time on a business that may hire 20 people?

10 year US Bond interest rates have been rising the last few weeks and are close to causing some serious interest damage although I haven't checked them today. Gold and Silver are managing to bust free of the International banking stranglehold for the first time in years. The worlds largest employer and biggest retail organization is seeing losses for about the first time ever and Egypt is exploding.

Five years ago we were pumping gas at $1.35 a gallon. Food prices have risen by at least 30% or more and that is only counting the low end stuff that tried the reduced sizes in stealth mode first.

New and Improved.

It is quite easy to see the decline is picking up it's pace. It may still be too slow for most unaware people to observe actual movement but those of us who watch closely can see it.

The rule of law is totally forgotten by our government now. The debt ceiling is ignored, mandated laws are ignored even worse than they were a couple of years ago. The speed of the decline is accelerating rapidly. We are moving past the point of watching for Black swan events speeding things along. They are no longer needed as this decline has it's own momentum building without helpful bumps in the road.

The smoke is blowing away and the mirrors are cracking right before our eyes.

Keep Prepping Everyone!!!

  1. It is either too slow for the unaware..or they are just so unaware that they think nothing is wrong. - My mother is one of them that doesnt think anything bad will ever happen. She also never watches the news, or reads a paper. ..yes she lives in a magical world of pixie dust and unicorns. Drives me bat shit crazy...

2o new jobs! they think we will pee our pants over that. Like it is some sort of thing to celebrate. And how many again are out of work?
I worry all the time, Senior has graduated, we are thinking of moving to the Country Estate.. He will be looking for work in the logistics field, companies post job vacancies, but how many are actually hiring? Scary times indeed.

  2. There are no jobs here, period. My county would do anything to attract business. However, we are too far from anywhere. We have no skilled labor force. Our politicians are largely corrupt. It's not a winning proposition.

Once when I was a kid, I got on a sled and started down a relatively benign slope. The sled got going faster and faster, and I knew I should jump off but I just couldn't make myself move. The result was an almighty crash at the bottom. Sometimes I feel like that today. I'd like to jump before the sled hits the bottom but I don't quite know how to do it.

  4. Things are so bad that 20 jobs seems like good news. My homeowners insurance has gone up 40% in the last couple of years. My tax rate has come down, but the tax assessment has skyrocketed in order to make up the difference. Things aren't any better anywhere else.

  7. Yeah, what to do. Hunker down I guess. It is amazing how the rest of the populace is still wasting money on going to the movies like 'The Butler'. Why is anyone wasting their time and money on this stuff? In denial and distracted.

  8. It boils down to "Want" and "Need" I want to see a movie but don't need too. I want a new car, but I don't need one. I want a better place to live and I need one. Too many folks have their head in the sand. I know what's coming and I pray for the best.
