Yep all it took was a mere mention that the Fed was going to start easing back on bond purchases, and then only sometime within the next six months to a year at that, for this party to start. Not even an immediate end just the rumor of an end is enough to start a panic.
It's hot here today. So hot even though the news sources say upper 80's my outside thermometer says mid 90's and the humidity is stifling. Just as I mentioned last night I been working in the garden but it has been one of those work a bit, go sit in the shade a bit days. Large amounts of water and iced tea have been consumed just to allow work to continue. Even the bees are a bit pissy today. I was chased away from the hummingbird feeder with violent intent twice when I got too close. These girls mean business and I am thinking I better nip this off at the bud and place the robber screens on the two little nucs tonight before they turn on their neighbors.
I am not sure what they are so pissed off about there is plenty of stuff to forage on. It maybe hot but it certainly isn't dry and there are wild flowers blooming literally everywhere.
Anyway back to the topic at hand.
If this panic lasts much longer it maybe time to move the prep meter back up to five. This is a serious deal here people.
For the last four years private and foreign investors have been steering away from US Bonds, especially munnies. I mean c'mon is there anyone out there stupid enough to buy bonds especially from Femocrat run cesspits like Detroit, Chicago or anything with CA after it's name? I can't imagine anyone being that dense.
Well actually there are two buyers for such junk. The Fed of course because it can take the haircut and keep going. The Fed is dependent on the financial flow to continue so even though they were taking a loss and a what would be a huge risk for us, to them it paid more to keep things moving along.
The other culprit is the real problem. The public and private sector retirement and pension accounts. Sure all of our 401k's will take a beating but no one is promising a 401k more than they are gonna get. Let this slide continue and suddenly these public sector accounts that were 50 million under funded will become 100 million under funded. Or worse.
Much more panic influenced correction and people are going to start getting really HOT I am sure.
There is simply no way the Fed can stop QE. I have said this before and I think what we have seen over the last few days proves it. Soon I expect Helicopter Ben to come out and say it was all a big joke.
If he doesn't? Well if he doesn't then I think we can call this the beginning of the actual collapse party.
It maybe best to put everything in order now.
Keep Prepping Everyone!!!
As some have noted, is this 1937 redux?
ReplyDeleteRuss - Did the Fed do any easing before the big one? I need to study that period more.
DeleteIf things go south, my family and I are screwed. But not as bad as the rest of America. This just proves the FED does control the economy.
ReplyDeleteRob - I would put in a garden quick if I was you guys. You should still have some time.
DeleteWe can't do a garden but we are planning on hitting up the farmers market. I told the wife that we need to buy more canned food stuff and stock up on flour and sugar. I told her with winter coming and us being out in rural area its better to stock up then fight the snow. She agreed.
DeleteYep, the sheeple are starting to wake up. Too little, too late.
ReplyDeleteRP - It is scary. I mean if the money stops flowing and people don't have any what will they do?
DeleteI so agree.
ReplyDeleteStephen - I wonder how long this is going to take though?
DeleteToss in today's bail-in announcement in Britain, and that its soon to come here and we have a party in the making.
ReplyDeleteLet's party like its 1929 folks.
Matt - I missed that one today. Need to go check it out.
DeletePP,
ReplyDeleteIt's more than likely the weather ticking off your bee's ..........
I so hear you with the heat, love working in the shade. The humidity needs to just go, can't stand it.
It's too late for the sheeple, they won't ever learn.
Sandy - Ya I haven't had any issues with the bees near the garden this year and I haven't opened their hive recently there is no reason for them to begetting testy with me. I need to get my grape vine bed built to cut off their line of sight to the garden.
DeleteMy bees have been pissy too here in Washington. I took some water out and put it near their hives, got stung several times. Could it be because I had been extracting some honey and something about the smell made them attack? I read on another blog last night that their bees were pissy also.
DeleteSpin - I have found that if I take honey or go into the brood chamber then yes they stay pissy for a few days. The bigger the hive the more pissy they get as well and late in the season they get down right defensive pissy if they are big.
DeleteBut although one of my hives by the garden is quite large right now I haven't messed with them in some time. There is no reason for them to be head butting me when I am in the garden. I think it is the same bee too and always in the same row of tomatoes like she is staking that area out.
